EVER RESTAURANT

With our second collaboration with 3-Michelin-starred Chef Curtis Duffy and Michael Muser, we took a moment to consider the journey that brought us here- the winding path, hopes, obstacles, failures, momentous successes. And also the open road ahead, rest stops, destination(s). Focusing on the actual restaurant space- the passage of time, the procession of events, was on our mind. How could we evoke a sense of journey and discovery in the limited engagement that is dining out? How could we prepare a visitor’s mind for the nuance, grandeur, and intimacy of the experience? We focused on a transformative path, defined moments along the way, and an unexpected destination to shape a transcendent experience. The path is constantly wrapping, the destinations revealed slowly, intriguingly. The materials are ancient and accretive, and then hand-scribed, and then machined precisely when they need to perform, and then supple and inviting when we touch and sit.  Thoughtful design exists throughout the entire space, from the dining room to the dish pit. It is not a stage set. Instilling the respect for craft and care for each and every mundane task of operations was very important.
